EXODUS Bassist Offering Video Lessons

The PlayThisRiff.com web site, which charges $9.99 for a monthly membership, has announced that it now features bass lesson videos from bassist Jack Gibson of San Francisco Bay Area metal veterans EXODUS. Learn how to play the songs "A Lesson in Violence", "Bonded by Blood" and "Deathamphetamine". All lessons are filmed in High Definition and feature the most accurate tabs on the net. PlayThisRiff.com also features lessons from members of FU MANCHU, 3 INCHES OF BLOOD, HELMET, PELICAN, THE DWARVES, T.S.O.L., THE NUMBER 12 LOOKS LIKE YOU, as well as Brant Bjork from KYUSS and FU MANCHU, Mike Watt of the MINUTEMEN, and Nick Oliveri from MONDO GENERATOR and QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE.

EXODUS is currently putting together a DVD containing the band's 2008 performance at Germany's Wacken Open Air festival, plus a 90-minute documentary as well as about 30 minutes of bonus footage, and all of the group's promotional videos. The set will consist of two DVDs plus an audio CD of the Wacken performance and is expected to be released in August.

Fan-filmed video footage of EXODUS performing the song "A Lesson In Violence" on March 4 at Rolling Stone club in Milan, Italy, can be viewed below. Photos of the concert are available on the news blog Musica Metal.

British extreme metal drumming legend Nick Barker (CRADLE OF FILTH, TESTAMENT, DIMMU BORGIR, BRUJERIA, ATROCITY) filled in for EXODUS' Tom Hunting during the band's recent European tour with OVERKILL.

"Let There Be Blood", the controversial re-recording of EXODUS' classic 1985 debut album "Bonded by Blood", has been released on limited-edition red vinyl. Only 2,500 numbered copies are available via Zaentz Records' web site.

"Let There Be Blood" sold 2,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release, according to Nielsen SoundScan. Issued on October 28 through Zaentz Records, the CD was recorded at Sharkbite Studios in Oakland, California; JKZ Production Studio in San Rafael, California; with vocal tracks recorded at J. Rod Production Studios in New City, New York. Andy Sneap mixed the album at his Backstage studio in Derbyshire, England.
